Zoe Dickinson

Winner of the Canadian Prize in the Overleaf Chapbook Manuscript Competition, Winter 2015.

These poems, small stops strung along the daily commute, bring presence to the dead time, the empty time, the blank space between departure and arrival.

All down the row of seats they nod,
coffee mugs clutched in laps
like objects of prayer,
or monks' wooden bowls…

from "Morning Obeisance"
